Gorgeous French antique 19th century Renaissance revival / Hunt style Writing desk in carved oak. Marvelous decorated hunt style desk with fox head drawers & barley twisted columns. Made with superb craftsmanship from European Oak. The top has 5 drawers 4 small and 1 large drawer & open storage for letters. The bottom has 2 small drawers on the left , 1 large drawer in the middle and on the right side a unique large drawer. This large drawer has another lockable compartment inside and was used for the safe keeping of important documents & money. It comes with its own unique key. The special drawer is a very rare & unique detail on this desk. It remains in superb condition and the woodgrain / patina looks lovely.
