Kalahari Atlas Stool by Claesson Koivisto Rune

Architectural, minimal, and beautifully crafted, the Kalahari series was designed by award-winning Swedish studio Claesson Koivisto Rune and produced by Botswana furniture maker Peter Mabeo working in collaboration with local artisans using sustainably harvested materials.The Atlas stool is an extension of the Kalahari family of products and follows the basic construction of a top and legs with no other components. This basic approach has been made more elemental with a stool that has only a floating leather bowl shaped seat and three legs.The simplicity of the stool is balanced out by its strict profile and use of warm, natural materials of leather and hardwood.A contrast stitching detail, applied using an involving hand stitching process, further enhances this example of compelling essential design.The Kalahari Atlas stool comes in black leather with red hand-made stitching.
